Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Alaria is an alarm app that makes you prove you're awake. This policy explains what data the app handles, what stays on your device, what reaches our servers, and how you can delete it. The short version: your alarms live on your phone, not our servers — we only keep what's needed to run your account and subscription.
1. Data that stays on your device
The following is stored locally on your phone and is not uploaded to our servers:
- Your alarms — times, repeat days, labels, chosen missions, and sounds
- Wake-up history and streaks
- QR codes generated for the QR mission
- App settings and preferences
Deleting the app (or using Settings → Clear local data) removes this data from your device.
2. Data we collect
- Account: your email address and account timestamps, stored with our database provider (Supabase). Sign-in uses one-time email codes — we never store a password. Login code emails are delivered via Resend.
- Subscription status: purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (e.g. free or Pro) — never your payment card details.
- Usage analytics: product events (such as "alarm created" or "mission completed") and basic device information, via PostHog, to understand how the app is used and improve it. We do not track your alarm times or QR code contents.
- Crash reports: error and crash diagnostics via Sentry, so we can fix bugs.
3. Device permissions, and what they're used for
- Notifications / alarms — required so your alarms can ring.
- Camera — used only by the QR mission to scan your wake-up code. Scanning happens on your device; no photos or video are stored or uploaded.
- Microphone — used only by the Shout mission to measure loudness on your device. Audio is never recorded, stored, or uploaded.
- Motion sensors — used only by movement missions like Shake, processed entirely on your device.
4. How we use information
- To provide the service: your account, sign-in, and Pro entitlement
- To process subscriptions, trials, and purchase restores
- To understand product usage and improve the app
- To respond to support requests
We do not sell your data, and the app shows no third-party advertising.
5. Service providers
We share data only with the processors that run the service: Supabase (database and authentication), RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple / Google (payments), PostHog (analytics), Google Analytics (website analytics), Sentry (crash reporting), and Resend (login emails). Each receives only what it needs for its role.
6. Data retention & deletion
Account data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time — in the app under Settings → Delete account, or on our account deletion page. Deletion removes your account and the data tied to it from our systems. Local data on your phone is removed by deleting the app.
7. Children
Alaria is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
